Built for strong coffee
One roast, every strong brew
Moonshine is roasted for people who want a bold, full-bodied cup that stands up to milk. Here's how it behaves across every brew.
Espresso
18-20 g in, 36-40 g out, 25-30 sec. Bold and syrupy.
Milk drinks
Dark chocolate and hazelnut cut straight through milk.
Filter / pour over
Coarser grind softens the roast and lifts the sweetness.
Plunger
Heavy and full-bodied. 4 minutes, press, pour.
Stovetop
Strong, rich and smooth. No harsh bitterness.
What's actually in the blend
Two origins, one deep and full-bodied espresso. Here's what those words on the bag actually mean.
Origin 1 · Colombia
Ubaque · washed process
Colombian beans bring structure and a clean sweetness that survives the darker roast. The washed process removes the fruit before drying, then ferments the bean in water, giving the cup its clarity underneath all that body.
Origin 2 · Brazil
Labareda · pulped natural process
Brazilian beans bring the body and the chocolate. Pulped natural leaves the sticky fruit layer on while the bean dries, so the sugars soak in. Roasted darker, those sugars become the dark chocolate, hazelnut and molasses notes.

Moonshine FAQs
What does Moonshine taste like?
Dark chocolate up front, roasted hazelnut through the middle and a rich molasses finish. It's bold and full-bodied but smooth: deep without being burnt, and sweet enough to carry through milk.
Is Moonshine good for strong milk coffee?
Yes, it's our pick for flat whites, lattes and anyone who finds lighter roasts get lost in milk. The dark chocolate and hazelnut cut straight through. Start at 18-20 g in, 36-40 g out over 25-30 seconds.
Can I drink it black?
Absolutely. As a straight espresso or long black it's rich and syrupy with low acidity. It also makes a big, comforting plunger or stovetop coffee; just pick the matching grind when you order.
How is it different from the Seasonal Blend?
Same Colombia and Brazil beans, same 85/100 cupping score, roasted darker. The Seasonal Blend is milk chocolate and caramel; Moonshine pushes that to dark chocolate, hazelnut and molasses with a heavier body.
How fresh are the beans when they arrive?
We roast to order in our Melbourne roastery, so your beans typically ship within a day or two of roasting and arrive within 2-3 business days for most metro areas.
How does the subscription work?
Pick your grind, size and delivery frequency, and save 20% on every order. You can pause, skip or cancel from your account after your first recurring order. Orders over $100 ship free.
